Ben Franklin once said: "In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is freedom, in water there is bacteria".
In a number of carefully controlled trials, scientists have demonstrated that if we drink 1 liter of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than 1 kilo of Escherichia coli, (E. coli) - bacteria found in feces. In other words, we are consuming 1 kilo of poop. However, we do NOT run that risk when drinking wine & beer (or tequila, rum, whiskey or other liquor) because alcohol has to go through a purification process of boiling, filtering and/or fermenting.
Remember: Water = Poop, Wine = Health. Therefore, it's better to drink wine and talk stupid, than to drink water and be full of shit.

Oh ya, the inventor of the air bath, just stand on the porch naked. What a smart fellow.
We know this is a joke (a little funny) and know intuitively that the logic can’t be right, but just where is the thinking wrong?
1. If there were enough “E-Coli” in water to get one kilo from 365 liters (one per day for a year (ignoring leap years)), that would make water 0.365% “E-Coli” – assuming (for the sake of easy arithmetic) that water and “E-Coli” weigh about the same. (If it in fact weighs twice as much or half as much it would be between 0.1825% and 0.73%.) In other words, water is at least 1/5th of one percent “E-Coli”…I don’t think so.
2. It then goes on to declare “E-Coli” equivalent with “poop”. This we know this is not true. “Poop” contains “E-Coli”, it is not 100% any bacteria. In fact it too is certainly less that 1/5th of one percent “E-Coli” so we would need to eat more than one liter of poop a day to accumulate a kilo of “E-Coli”. Not a pleasant thought I know.
3. It further ignores the fact that there is already a certain store of said fecal matter in our bodies (with normal quantity of “E-Coli” and we regularly “eliminate” it. Drinking more water enhances this process. I won’t speculate on the effects of alcohol in this respect.
4. If this was in fact said by Ben Franklin (I have my doubts, but never mind) public water distribution systems have come a long way since then.

“In wine there is wisdom, in beer there is strength, in water there is bacteria.”

This is very interesting Franklin “said” a lot about wine – or was he just quoting old sayings in “The Almanac”?
“Wine makes a man more pleased with himself. I do not say that it makes him more pleasing to others.”
Samuel Johnson (1709-1784)Boswell's "Life of Johnson"
I've been to my fair share of Johnston functions and I know for a fact you all consume a lot of water, to be so full of well you know.
Wow, I thought this was hilarious --whether its true or not. So whoever is signing as 'anonymous'- just own up ya chicken sheee-aat..
No one knows what it's like to be the sad man, to be the bad man, behind blue eyes.
you all failed miserably at the point of the post
Actually Escherichia Coli (commonly E. Coli) was discovered by German Pediatrician and Bacteriologist Theodore Escherich in 1885, Ol' Benjamin Franklin passed away April 17, 1790.
the original post has been edited for your convenience...
We got the point but has so much fun pissing you off.
who is pissing who off? Or..who is pissing on someone?
Oh come on now don't be getting all huffy! It was only a joke. Oh and by the way Pee does not have E-Coli it has ammonia
Did you know that no-one has ever recieved a DWI drinking water? Just think...that would make you a shitty driver. hahahahah.
