I’ve been trying to think of a good manifesto, story or proclamation to add to the Blog that bares my soul. Unfortunately, I can't think of anything good, or deep. I've soul searched but the deepest thing I can think of is I hope I don't die before I get old because I love life so much. But I did want to resound earlier posts that describe how you are proud of one another, and say the first thing that comes to mind.
Deb: I am proud of you for being a wonderful matriarch of the Johnston 7. It is obvious how much you care about everyone over the years, and you have a deep, genuine love for everyone. You would do anything for your brothers and sisters. You have great kids...Katie is young and there is plenty of time for her to live a good life.
Jim: I am proud of you (even if you've never blogged) because [as rarely as I talk to you] I can hear and see the joy in your face and voice when you talk about your kids and family, and because you try to find joy in life and you love to share your exuberance/laughter for life with your brothers and sisters when you see them.
Dave: I am proud of you for starting this blog and being as vulnerable as you have been - showing us that you care about our relationships and lives. You have undoubtedly seen some bad things and have found a sense of Grace to bring home to your family.
Rich: I am proud of you for being so gracious and caring throughout my life. I have never heard you say a bad word about anyone. Maybe you have carried a heavy burden unfairly foisted upon you simply for being who you are because you've felt a lot of pain for your brothers and sisters.
Jean: I am proud of you because you seek to find laughter and bliss on a daily basis and share it with your family, and you love all of your relatives and are at your best when we're all together remembering the happy times.
Jodi: I am perhaps most proud of my little sister because you have gone through a lot and have made such a stable life with a great family. You are forgiving and you have a good sense of yourself and you love everyone. And you will forgive me for my lame anon advice.
Since I'm at it... I am also proud of my mom and dad because they loved their kids a great deal and they always tried to do the best they could for each of us. I forgive them for any interaction that may have been painful, and I know they feel the same towards me.
You all know that I am especially proud of myself for catching big fish.
Love,

How sweet. I love the part that you are proud you catch big fish. haha
Ron,
if I remember correctly my Walleye was proportionately bigger than your Chinook. Don't make me remind you again. Thank you for the words of encouragement to our family. Thanks for being "little David" to my friends when I was gone.
Jodi,
all opinions are like A-holes, they all stink and everyone has one. Mine just happens to stink less.
David, my stink less than yours.
Ronnie, I should not be crying at work, my boss thinks he did something wrong. Anway thank-you from the bottom of my heart, you have taught me alot just by observation, as always when we talk about you it involves laughter, and what a beautiful family you have. Tyler thinks the world of you and one reason is because he loves cereal. You two remind me of each other so much, he even gets rid of spiders for me. There is nothing to forgive regarding the anon advice it is always something you can learn from and it is your opinion, no opinion is right or wrong.
Love ya Jodi
Rojo,
Very nice blog. Thank you. It also brought tears to my eyes, but Jodi being the big baby she is actually shed them. And where is the picture of the fish, I wanted to show everybody at work and its gone!!
I'll put up a few more recent fish pictures. Oh and you know I was the anon...right?
Dave, proportionally bigger? I don't even know what that means. I do however still have 2 big, puffy, pairs of grey leather mittons. Were't you wearing them when you hooked the fish and Dad had to land it for you?
Ron,
Thanks for the great comments! It really means a lot to me to hear things like that...especially from family members!
Love ya,
Deb
Ron, proportioanlly bigger means you caught a chinook that weighed more than my walleye but my walleye was huge for walleyes and your chinook was average for chinooks. Aren't you a teacher?
Also, Dad did not land my walleye! and Jim complained about the fish until Dad made us switch places so Jim could get a big one. Shortly after switching I caught another fish As you can imagine Jim was less than happy.
Dave, I was just a little confused because I forgot that there was a time when I thought that was a big Walleye. And as a teacher I try to encourage my students to use words properly. You violated this rule and will serve detention. I hate to inform (lie) you that we routinely catch 10- 15 pounders here (no lie)in the mild, green, mosquitoe, gnat, horsefly, humidity free state of Washington. I was once bitter when I found this out, and when I discovered that the state record Walleye in Washington is 2 pounds bigger than the Minnesota record. Then a friend took me to the Columbia river and I caught some. If you catch a 5 pounder they laugh at you for catching such a small one. Come out to WA and catch a real Walleye. Colorado's state Walleye record is also larger than MN's...Crazy.
