SONS AND LESSONS LEARNED

My question is why do they do things they know they shouldn't?
Jamie and I gave Tyler a 1995 Toyota 4-runner for christmas we also paid a $1500.00
repair on it new transmission and cluth. Jamie and I at the time laid down some rules,
1) Watch the gas tank, gas it way expensive and we will not pay for it
2) Do not do anything in or to the truck that you know is wrong, EX: no four-wheeling
speeding, etc...
3) No more than 3 people with you when you drive, or you may become distracted.
Well... he didn't have the truck for very long

The story goes as follows:
The first day we got the truck back after getting it fixed he drove and drove and drove
and put over $100.00 in the gas tank within a day and a half, we thought okay your money
he was excited to drive but at that time we told him, dude ya gotta quit with all the driving around his reply was ya ya I know mother ( I hate being called mother) his reply to Jamie
was I'm sorry Jamie. What is that? sorry to Jamie but not me.

Four days later while I am at work Tyler calls me and says mom don't be mad and don't say anything I already took care of it, I say what? he says I got a flat tire and took it to
Tires Plus to get a new one which cost him $97.16 mind you the tires he had on the truck
were Good Year tires brand new with only about 6,000 miles on them.
I then proceed to hang up with him and call Jamie and told him, he instantly was very wary
and knew at that moment something more had gone on and Tyler was not saying.
Jamie being now p.o. says he cannot have a crappy tire on the truck and went and made
Tyler buy a new Good Year cost $76.00. as they were driving home from the tire shop
the truck cannot go over 30 mph because if you do it shakes like nothing.
Jamie gets out of the truck on the freeway climbs underneath and notices the transfer case
is leaking all over and there is dried on mud up to right underneath the engine, mud packed
in his rims etc etc... come to find out two days later Tyler and his buddies decided to go
mudding and at the last minute Tyler says: I thought to myself this is a bad idea,
well we obviously know it was not a last minute decision, his truck was so bad
that he had water in the engine. Tyler now at this time has no money because he had to
spend $273.163 dollars in 4 days on the truck plus $300.00 for part of the 2nd repair.
which he still owes money on.
Tyler is still without his vehicle and has no money.
The moral of this story: Flat Tire $97.16, 2nd Tire $76.00
look on kids face when they need a ride somewhere and you say sorry, priceless.

Yes I know that is sounds mean, but Tyler has learned his lesson
